Dan Porter moved west to Bozeman from Perry Hall, Maryland in the spring of 1986. Like many of his clients and friends, he fell in love with Montana. He brought with him 12 years of construction and real estate experience. Dan’s real estate focus in Montana has been helping clients to realize their dreams of homeownership. He specializes in residential real estate, homes on acreage, land, and equestrian properties.

His construction experience has allowed him to build two homes for himself from the ground up, so he knows what to look for when buying a home, or choosing a home site. His land sales run the gamut from city lots in town, to parcels hundreds of acres in size. He has represented Keith Fraser Construction, a member of the Southwest Montana Building Industry Association, in the sale of many new homes over the years, including a number of beautiful custom homes for his land buyers. Dan Porter is a Graduate of the REALTOR® Institute and a Member of the BigSky Country Multiple Listing Service.

“Real Estate for me has been one long 40 year learning curve. Every day there are new challenges and new hurdles to rise above to bring buyers and sellers together.  Real Estate is always changing ..the legal aspects, the marketing tools, buyers needs and desires, construction styles and materials, land uses, … that keeping up with those changes is an ongoing learning challenge.” – Dan

What Dan Porter's Clients Are Saying

“Buying or selling a home or property can be a time-consuming and stressful activity, but it doesn’t have to be. When I buy or sell real estate, I work with Dan Porter so that I can spend more of my time with my family and focus more of my attention on running my business. When I have been a seller, Dan has always brought me unique ideas to market my properties and he has countless connections to potential buyers. He’ll put a potential buyer in snowshoes to walk a property in the winter or load a day pack with water bottles to give someone a tour in the summer. When I’ve been a buyer, he has scoured potential homes to list pros and cons. As anyone who has worked with Dan knows, his service doesn’t end at the closing. He’s helped me mend fences, plant trees, and consult with city and county officials. I could go on, but my point is that he goes over and above what one would expect from his or her real estate agent. I trust that Dan will always have my best interest in mind. Dan has made me a customer for life.”

“Dan Porter has been helping me with my various real estate ventures for the past 3 years, he has always been very attentive to detail, and to what we have been looking for as both an investor as well as a personal home buyer.  I would without a doubt recommend dan for all of your real estate needs.”
